Jazz Album of the Week: "Portrait" by Horace Silver

Horace Silver was a West Coast American jazz pianist and composer who passed away just last year. His music has been recognized for its distinctive mix of African and Latin American sounds fused with Gospel and soul jazz. He caught his first big break as a backup saxophonist for Stan Getz in 1950.

This album "Portrait" is  a compilation/greatest hits curation of all of his best tracks, and it's fantastic and well-done.

Happy listening :)
